Go D-backs!

So yesterday a friend gave Marty & me and Jeff & Jana these awesome box seat tickets to the Diamondbacks game. It was SO fun! It was a good game, too. The Dbacks scored SIX runs in the first TWO innings and killed the Rockies.

A "storm" rolled in, too. So even though you can't see it, I am actually wearing a SWEATER. That's right, on MAY 13th. It felt SO good, and I was excited to be at Chase Field with the top open.

Do you think Jeff and Jana had fun, too? Jeff was SO ready to catch a fly ball.
He wants to be a pitcher just like Randy Johnson when he grows up.
I looked all over to try to find the profile picture of the pitcher where he is holding his glove over his face and looking very mysterious, but that's all right - Jeff got the pose just about right.

And the BEST part of the evening?
I smell a bacon chalupa....
A couple of days ago Marty and I went to Taco Bell and saw a sign saying that when the Dbacks score 8 runs you get a free chalupa. So Marty and I were all excited because we were planning to go to a game this weekend anyway, but 8 runs in a game is hard right? But the D-backs pulled through for us, baby! At the game there was the funniest guy they kept showing on camera with a huge sign saying, "I smell bacon chalupa" and he was rubbing his belly and...I guess you just had to be there, but I got a good laugh over it. Nevermind the like 250 bucks our friend gave us in free tickets and parking, the best freebie of the night is that coupon you see there, worth like...a dollar....?

More Mommy Day

Breakfast in bed from the world's sweetest and most artistic chef! Marty made the "I" out of an AMAZING veggie-licious omelet, the heart is a sausage patty, and the "MOM" is made out of pancakes. Pretty professional, eh? And that gentleman has been making me roses out of napkins since one of our first dates. Sigh...

Then he told me that I didn't have to eat the MOM pancakes if I didn't want to, because he also made CHOCOLATE chip pancakes! My hero!

Brynn likes them, too.

We had such a good day together! I am SOOO grateful for this little sweetie right here. She has made me the luckiest and happiest mom ever! Just don't make me quote that right before her bedtime!

That night we had a yummy BBQ outside. You can see Brynn was real happy about it. This was taken right before bedtime, so you can sort of see here what I was talking about. :)

Thanks for waiting on me hand and foot and making it such a great day, Marty! I love you!

Happy Mommy Day!

How do we feel about today?

Last Mother's Day Marty gave me a book called, "I Am a Mother," by Jane Clayson Johnson. I loved it! The whole premise of the book centered around something that I had been doing for the last 5 months, saying "Oh, I'm just a mom." Just?! If any of you have found yourselves saying or thinking that, this book will really give you a kick in the pants to realize how incredible it is to be able to stand and say, "I am a mother!"

"She who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions deserves the admiration and the plaudits of mankind; but she who rears successfully a family of healthy beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, ...long after paintings shall have faded, and books and statues shall have decayed or shall have been destroyed deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the chicest blessings of God. In her hgih duty and service to humanity..., she is co-partner with the Creator himself" (David O. McKay, Gospel Ideals, 453-454).

Happy Mother's Day!
I love you, Mom! Thanks for everything!
